CHUCK SHULER

Chuck Shuler, while slight in stature, was a giant in the lighting industry. For more than thirty years, Chuck proactively reached out to suppliers, agents, customers and competitors to improve the performance of the industry he loved so well.

For the last ten years of his life, Chuck was the voice of Acuity Brands Lighting’s pole initiative.  As he had for so many years, Chuck provided the expertise and leadership to address every aspect of poles for outdoor lighting applications.  He addressed everything from wind loadings and vibration dampers to EPA’s and anchor bolts.  In his quiet and unassuming manner, he helped us improve the products and services we provide our mutual customers.

One of Chuck’s goals was to provide a central, user-friendly website that would provide educational materials for the correct application of poles. His intent was for it to become an industry resource for consistent technical data, application information and tools regarding the myriad world of poles, purchasing, application, installation, post-sales service and maintenance.  

Acuity Brands’ Poles Central is Chuck Shuler’s living legacy to Outdoor Lighting.  His contributions have made us a better company and improved our industry. While he is greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues, his passion and contributions will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.
